# Fated

> Fated is a free dating app that trades swiping for talking. You are matched with one person at a time, their photo comes into focus as you talk, and after eight threads you meet your Fated. Open to adults (18+) of every background.

Less swiping. More talking. Free to join, and free to use during the beta.

## What to know

- **Free.** Free to join and free to use during the beta. If paid features are ever added, the price is shown up front.
- **One person at a time.** No feed and no swiping. Matching is automatic, based on background, language and what you want, so nobody can browse you.
- **Talk to reveal.** Each match is a timed thread. Their photo starts blurred and unlocks as you talk. Job and age are shared only when you both say yes.
- **Eight threads, one Fated.** Every thread brings you closer to your Fated, the person you meet at the end.
- **For everyone.** Adults 18 and older, of every background. Matching considers heritage, languages and interests so you meet people you can really talk to.
- **Safety.** Everyone signs the same pledge (18+, no fetishizing, respect a no, never ask for money). Anyone can be reported in two taps, and reports are private.
- **Status.** In beta testing. People can join the waitlist and are emailed when Fated opens in their city.
