Safety at Fated

Safe by design

• Nobody can browse you. Matching is automatic and there's no feed, so no one can scroll through profiles looking for a target.
• You share yourself gradually. Your photo starts blurred and sharpens as you talk. Your job and age appear only when you both say yes.
• One person at a time. You talk with one match, in a thread you can end whenever you want.
• Everyone signs the same pledge: I'm 18+ and here as myself, I treat people as individuals with no fetishizing, I respect a no the first time, I never ask for money, and I report anything that feels off.

Checking who's on Fated

• Verified badge. Members can take a live selfie copying a pose, and a person on our team compares it with their profile photos. Passing it earns the Verified badge. An optional ID check confirms they're 18 or over. The selfie and ID are deleted as soon as they're checked.
• Every new photo is checked. Clear nudity is turned away. If a photo is the same picture as one on another account, or from an account we removed, our team takes a look.
• Hidden details are removed. Location tags and other hidden data are stripped from every photo.

In your conversations

• Scam warnings. If a chat mentions money, gift cards, crypto, codes or moving to another app, Fated shows a warning and our team can take a look.
• End any thread, any time. You never owe anyone a conversation. A skip token ends a thread straight away, and the two of you are never matched again.
• Private messages. Messages are encrypted when stored, and photos are only shown through private links that expire.

Reporting someone

1. Report in two taps from the chat. Choose what happened, such as harassment, a scam, a fake profile or someone who seems under 18.
2. You can block them at the same time. Your thread with them ends straight away.
3. Reports are private. The other person isn't told who reported them.
4. A real person reviews every report. To decide, our team sees the last ten messages of that conversation.
5. We act on it. We can remove someone from Fated and block their email, and the photos they used can't come back on a new account.

Meeting in person

• Meet somewhere public and busy, and get there on your own.
• Tell a friend who you're meeting, where and when.
• A short video call first is a good way to check they're who they say they are.
• Keep your drink with you, and keep your phone charged.
• Trust your gut. You can leave at any time, and you don't need a reason.

Never send money or gifts to someone you haven't met in person.

Child safety standards

Fated is only for adults, 18 and older. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation.

• Everyone confirms they're 18 or over when they sign up, and anyone can report a member who seems under 18. Those reports are reviewed first.
• Accounts that break this rule are removed and their email is blocked.
• We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), as U.S. law requires, and we cooperate with law enforcement.
